Registration for 2022 is now complete.
Thank you and see you in a couple of weeks!
We are finally open for registration for Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School 2022!
I’m looking forward to our excellent instructors, Linda Henderson and William Williamson, and cannot wait to hear the exceptional music of Terry Traub, Liz Donaldson, and Mara Shea.
The campus of Appalachian State is beautiful, the town of Boone is delightful with its many shops and restaurants, and the mountain views are spectacular!
We will be staying in a new dorm, Thunder Hill, with suite style rooms conveniently located next to our dancing venue, Grandview Ballroom. The suite consists of 2 bedrooms with 2 extra- long twin size beds sharing a bathroom. You will pay a lower rate if you share your bedroom and have 4/suite. For $25/day more you can have a private bedroom and share the bath with one other person.
The university no longer has an option to rent linens. Therefore, if you are driving to school you must bring sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels. BRSDS will provide linens for those arriving by air.
For our first ever BRSDS we are limiting our numbers to 75 full week and 25 partial week participants. So you don’t miss your opportunity to be included, we strongly encourage you to register by May 1. Your spot will be secured with a non-refundable $150 security deposit. You may pay tuition in full at time of registration or you may make payments. Please note Appalachian State will charge a 3% transaction fee on all credit card payments. You may avoid the fee by paying with a check, but you won’t be fully registered until the full amount is received.
Full week dancers check in on Sunday, July 3 from 3:00- 6:00 pm, partial week dancers check in on Wednesday, July 5 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Check-out is Saturday, July 9; however, you will have an option to extend your stay until Sunday morning if you wish to stay for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games or visit areas in and around Boone.
We hope you won’t have to cancel, but if you do so before June 19 you will only lose the deposit. If you paid by credit card you will incur the 3% fee on your refund. If you paid by check expect 3-4 weeks for a refund. Unfortunately, after June 19 your full tuition will be forfeited. It is advisable for you to consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance.
